Why vanadium technology?

Vanadium (V) is a chemical element, a light gray transition metal. It is often found in nature in compounds with other elements, but pure vanadium is very difficult to mine.

Vanadium redox flow batteries are among the few technologies capable of providing true long-term energy storage, without capacity degradation, with an extremely high level of safety, and with a life cycle measurable in decades.
